The competition dance season is underway and Minnesota Dance News would love to hear from you and your studio.

We caught up with DelMonico Dance Studio on their first event of the season, the Legacy Dance Championships, a regional dance competition, held in early April at the Ames Center in Burnsville, Minn.

DelMonico Dance Studio earned the competition’s top score for group routines (Legacy Award) for the 12 & under and 13 & older divisions. Along with the top honors, they had the top 5 scores in both group divisions.

DelMonico had a great showing with four soloists earning first place overall (Mr./Miss Legacy) and eight groups winning their division.  Kim DelMonico, the studio’s owner, said “It’s always exciting to take the stage after months of disciplined work and focus on technique in the classroom.”

The studio’s first place finishes include:

  • See Me in a Crown: Senior Company, choreographed by Kim DelMonico
  • Home: Senior Company, choreographed by Kelly Nichols
  • Black Magic Woman: Senior/Junior Companies, choreographed by Kelly Nichols
