Miss Dance Team Minnesota preview

It is the unofficial start to the winter dance season (stressing the unofficial), it is the Miss Dance Team Minnesota auditions.

Team Minnesota had a tremendously successful trip to California at the Miss Dance Drill Team USA competition in March. The team places first in the medium/large lyrical division and went on to place third in the Grand Championship!

Special congratulations to Lauren Honke of Wayzata high school on being named Miss Dance Drill Team USA (competing against high school 11th and 12th graders).

The Teen Miss Dance Drill Team USA (competing against 13-15 years old) went to Ella Winston of Wayzata High School.

Fasching & Bouavichith win duo/trio competition at 2019 Miss Dance Drill competition.

Team Minnesota’s Jordan Fasching (Chanhassen) and Kianee Bouavichith (Chaska) took first in the duo/trio category, both dance together at Velocity Dance & Theater in Chanhassen.

Other highlights:

11th grade high point winner: Annie Keiper (based on one performance)

9th grade high point winner: Katie Percival

Minnesota dominates the Miss division with four of the top five dancers (the top four) coming from Team Minnesota:

  • Winner – Lauren Honke
  • 1st Runner-up – Molly Segner
  • 2nd Runner Up – Grace Kisch
  • 3rd Runner-up – Nola Winje
  • 4th runner-up – From Valencia, CA 

In fact Minnesota’s delegation claimed eight of the top ten spots.
