AAA Jazz – February 16, 2018

As in kick, the Eastview Lightning Dance Team has been the dominant force in AAA Jazz, winning three of the last five state titles.  The competition in this category is so tight and Wayzata took first in Jazz at the Eastview Invitational in December…and their dance is powerful.  Other notable Jazz performances include many of the same Kick teams with the addition of Maple Grove (the only team in the last five year other than Eastview to win an AAA State Jazz title) Mounds View and Edina.  As with the AAA kick, if you enjoy dance, these performances will rival any show you will find…don’t miss it.

AAA Kick – February 17, 2018

This category has so many powerhouse performances dancing that it will be a great show.  It is impossible to ignore the Eastview Lightning Dance Team as they have won seven high kick state titles in the last decade.  In fact, none of the AAA teams to defeat them made it to state, Faribault is competing but in the AA category.  All of the other 11 dances are great, but Matt’s picks to give Eastview a run for their money include Wayzata and Anoka and Brainerd with some other favorites including Chaska, Eden Prairie and Spring Lake Park.  No matter the team, we have been blown away by the jump in level of difficulty in the last couple years and can’t wait to see everyone under the Target Center lights.
