- Roll your feet on a ball. Feet are a dancer’s key tools. Not only are they critical for push off power and landing stability, but tension in the foot impacts hip flexibility too. Put the ball on the floor. Put one foot on top of it. Use moderate pressure to roll back and forth for one minute. Repeat on the other side.
- Warm up. Perform a dynamic warm up moving all joints through increasing ranges and speeds of motion. Allow 10 minutes, and perform the warm up within 20 minutes of your performance time.
- Feel. It’s easy to overthink the details of your routine. You’ve practiced. You’re ready. Put your hand over your chest and take 10 deep breaths, then go share your passion with everyone in the audience!
Remember: ball warm up for the feet, dynamic warm up for the body, pause to take 10 breaths so the audience can feel your passion for dance! You’ve got this! Have fun and good luck to all the teams performing this weekend!
