One of the goals that MN Dance News has had from the beginning is to bring updates from around Minnesota Dance along with some of the best action photography out there, it has always been about raising awareness of the sports and giving you tools to make you a better dancer.  We just turned six months old and have some super fun announcements.

With that in mind, we are happy to announce that periodically you will be reading insights on one of Minnesota Dance’s great success stories (and there are so many!)  These pieces can be found under the Tips from the Pros section of our site.  Here is a brief snapshot of her inspirational story.

Minnesota native Danielle Maas was born and raised in the Minneapolis suburb of Plymouth.  She spent her younger years dancing in the studio world, learning and perfecting her craft.  Her teenage years were split between Minnesota and New York, where she went to school and trained at The School of American Ballet, Manhattan Youth Ballet among others.

After high school she went to Los Angeles to pursue a career in commercial dance.  The tug of ballet never left her and, several months of intense practice, she auditioned and was accepted into the Nevada Ballet Theatre, where she has had roles in productions of Swan Lake, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty and a James Canfield production of The Nutcracker.

You will find Danielle crisscrossing the United States this summer sharing her passion and expertise with young dancers in the Resurgence Intensive workshops.  Find dates to her events in the MN Dance News Calendar.

Stay tuned to MN Dance News for more on her amazing story and tips on how you can grow as a dancer.
